Work and Education:
Dr. Villegas joined the faculty staff at Baylor in 2024. She brings several years of teaching experience in clinical, classroom, and online settings at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Dr. Villegas teaches classes in the AGACNP track as well as in the DNP program. Her career as a nurse practitioner has been focused on trauma and surgical critical care.
Articles and Presentations:
Dr. Villegas served as co-editor of the June 2023 “Evidence-Based Trauma Pearls” issue of Critical Care Nursing Clinics of North America. She has also written and co-authored 3 articles on trauma-related topics for the same journal since 2022. Dr. Villegas gave poster presentations on “The Implementation of a Multi-Disciplinary Frailty Protocol for Frail Geriatric Trauma Patients” at the 2021 JPS Research and Quality Symposium and the 2021 American College of Surgeon TQIP National Conference.
