- What do I need to know about the HESI Admission Assessment Exam (A2)?
All applicants are required to take the HESI A2 (entrance exam) before being considered for the nursing program. A minimum score of 80 or higher on both the HESI A2 English Composite and Math portions to be eligible for consideration to the nursing program. Required sections to be tested:
- English Composite
(Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, General Knowledge & Grammar)
- Math
- What do I need to know about TOEFL?
Students whose first/native language is not English are required to take the TOEFL, regardless of US education or years of residence. The Louise Herrington School of Nursing requires applicants to attain a minimum score of 560 on the paper based test, 220 on the computer based test, or 83 on the internet based test (IBT).
- What if I’m a transfer student?
Students that complete their prerequisite courses at another regionally accredited college or university are considered transfer students when applying to the nursing program and should follow the admission process.
- What do I need to know if I’m a current Pre-Nursing Students at Baylor?
Students must complete at least 30 hours in residence at Baylor University in Waco, TX to be considered for the nursing program and will follow the admission process outlined here. Both students currently completing their prerequisite courses at Baylor University, as well as previous Baylor University graduates, are considered a part of this population.
- What do I need to know if I’m a Lower Division Pre-Nursing Students ENTERING Baylor?
Students may enter Baylor University as a Freshmen or Sophomore to complete the prerequisite courses on the main campus in Waco, TX. To find more information regarding this application process, please contact Baylor University Admissions.
