Baylor Student Nurses’ Association is a local chapter of the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA), the national organization for nursing students. NSNA’s mission is to mentor students preparing for licensure as registered nurses, and to convey the standards, ethics, and skills that students will need as members of the profession. BSNA holds monthly meetings, social, and service events. Each spring, a group of members is selected to attend the NSNA National Convention. The organization helps facilitate the transition to the American Nurses’ Association upon graduation. It is also intended to enhance the educational experience at Baylor LHSON. Future Nurses Association
The Future Nurses Association at Baylor is dedicated to cultivating community within the nursing cohorts, primarily pre-nursing students. FNA provides students with social, spiritual, and academic support, as well as volunteering opportunities, to prepare them for nursing school. With study groups, social events, and ways to get involved around the Waco community, FNA is a safe haven for nursing students, providing not only academic, but emotional support. At the end of each meeting, there is an optional devotional and prayer for those who need spiritual guidance. As prospective nurses, we have a heart to serve others, and we don't have to wait until nursing school! Join us at soup kitchens, Compassion Waco, homeless ministries, and more to learn how to love the community we will be serving! To learn more please contact Dr. Laura Butler or Dr. Katy Vogelaar.
