Weiming Ke, PhD

Work/Education
Dr. Weiming Ke is a biostatistician at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Dr. Ke works collaboratively with faculty members to assist with their research projects or grant application proposals by performing power analysis to estimate sample size, writing up data analysis plans, developing Qualtrics surveys, performing statistical analysis, interpreting the results, as well as writing up methodology and result sections for manuscripts. Dr. Ke also advised DNP students on their DNP projects by reviewing their data and proposals of the projects and providing guidance and suggestions on data organization, statistical analysis, and interpretation of the results. Dr. Ke is also a lead instructor for an online course “Introduction to Statistical Methods” for DNP students.
Before joining Baylor, Dr. Ke was a biostatistician at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, an assistant professor in statistics at South Dakota State university, and a biostatistician at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Dr. Ke received his master’s and PhD degrees in Applied Statistics from the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, and received his bachelor’s degree in Solid Mechanics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in Beijing, China.
Professional Organizations & Committees
Dr. Ke is a member of the American Statistical Association. He serves as a peer-reviewer for publications and presentations for journals and conferences from the American Statistical Association.
Awards and Honors
Dr. Ke received the Julie Lathrop Nursing Research Award from Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in 2013, the 2nd Place Poster Award from American Council on Consumer Interests in 2008, and the prize for excellent paper from the Spring Research Conference organized by the American Statistical Association in 2003.

Dr. Ke is involved in both his local and professional community. Aside from spending time with family, he enjoys traveling and exploring different cultural experiences.
