Work and Education
Doctor DeVreeze has taught nursing at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing for the past 5 years. Specializing in pediatrics, population health, and medical/surgical nursing, she teaches students through lecture, lab, and clinical settings. Her professional clinical experience includes seven years as a Gastroenterology Nurse at Children’s Medical Center and six years as an elementary school nurse at Waxahachie Independent School District. 

Articles and Presentations
Doctor DeVreeze has presented her poster for her DNP project at the DNP Student Conference at UT Tyler, as well as at the National Consortium for Academic Nurse Coaches Conference in 2026.

Community
Finally, Shelby DeVreeze is involved in her local community, where she has lived for the past twenty-three years. She spends most of her time with her husband and two children, and her dog, Honey. They are active members at their church, Cross and Crown in Waxahachie. Shelby also volunteers with First Look, a Christian-based pregnancy center in her hometown, and she works with elementary school nurses in the community with screenings and covering campus clinics when needed.
