Work and Education
Sarah Nichols graduated with her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) from Paris Junior College in 2009, then later with her Associate Degree of Applied Science in Nursing (ADN) in 2011. She continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSN) in 2014, then a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Nursing Administration with an Education Certificate, 2024.

Professor Nichols nursing experience includes Long-Term Care, Home Health, Hospice, Emergency Department-both pediatric and community settings, Surgical Services, and Hospital Education, with most of the experience being within the Emergency Department. September 2024, she joined the LHSON simulation team. Within simulation, she teaches in all undergraduate tracks, facilitating scenario-based simulation for multiple levels and courses. Sarah supports Acute and Primary Care PNP, AGACNP, and DABSN Senior immersions.

Committees
Professor Nichols is involved in the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee at LHSON as well as the Research Committee with INACSL.

Outside of Baylor University, she is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association and serves as a State Faculty for both TNCC and ENPC. She holds a certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).

Articles and Presentations
Professor Nichols presented a poster presentation for Nurse Scholar at Baylor Scott and White Temple, 2024, for “Perceived Organizational Support: Identifying the Gaps Between Staff and Leadership.”

Community  
Professor Nichols lives in Waxahachie with her two boys. They love to take road trips to hike at national parks.

Finally, Sarah Nichols is involved in her local community. She has on the board of The Heights of Ellis County Family Resources Center and a Voices Committee Member. She is also an active member of Believing Restoration is Attainable.
