Work Overview
Dr. Renea Powell is a Clinical Associate Professor and DNP-NNP Track Co-Coordinator at Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Currently, she teaches in the graduate program while serving as the coordinator for the accelerated program. She also served on the Summer Faculty Institute for Baylor University in 2018. In addition to working for Baylor, Dr. Powell is a Neonatal/Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for Carevide Pediatrics and Millenium Neonatology. Her previous professional background includes utilizing her expertise as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for Greenville Health Center; adjunct faculty for Texas A&M Commerce and Pediatric/Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for Greenville Children’s Clinic and Children's Medical Center Dallas. Her research interests focus on childhood obesity.

Outside the classroom, Dr. Powell contributes to both nursing publications and nursing associations. She is also a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN).
