Dr. Meagan Soltwisch is a Clinical Associate Professor at Baylor University’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing. She is a certified Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP, FNP-C) with experience in urgent care, primary care, and telehealth.

Dr. Soltwisch earned her BSN from Washington State University and both her MSN and DNP from Gonzaga University. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Her clinical focus centers on evidence-based practice, patient education, prevention, and holistic care. Dr. Soltwisch is passionate about fostering strong patient-provider relationships built on trust, empathy, and shared decision-making.

Her scholarship and research interests include antibiotic overuse in urgent care settings, telehealth toolkit development for rural communities, interprofessional education between athletic training and nurse practitioner programs, mHealth technology for HIV-positive female patients, implementation of PHQ-9 screening in urgent care, toolkit development for new FNP graduates, and ethics training for nurse practitioners. Her most recent research examines Sabbath practices and their relationship to burnout as well as wellness among faculty members.

Dr. Soltwisch actively contributes to the profession through teaching and mentoring BSN, MSN, and DNP students, emphasizing evidence-based practice and quality improvement to enhance patient outcomes. She serves as a peer reviewer for Consultant360 journal and is the recipient of several awards, including the Saint Joan D’Arc Medallion (U.S. Army outstanding volunteer) and the Dr. Mary Walker Medal of Honor for Army service.

She holds memberships in Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and Rho Lambda Honor Society and has been recognized as an Outstanding Student Award recipient at Washington State University and a Distinguished DNP Student at Gonzaga University.

Outside of her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Soltwisch enjoys spending time with her husband, their three children, and their dog, Obie. She loves being outdoors, engaging in church activities, reading, cooking, and exploring new restaurants.
