Mary Ann Hill
Deans Board of Advocates, member

Mary Ann Hill graduated from Baylor University with a BA in Speech, English, and Secondary Education in 1962. While at Baylor she met Doug Hill, her husband, of 60 years. The Hills also have two grown daughters, two sons-in-law, and 2 grandchildren, and a granddaughter-in-law who also graduated from Baylor. Mary Ann comes from a long line of Baylorites with 26 members of her family claiming Baylor as their college.
After running a family business and residing in Dallas for more than 48 years, the Hills moved to Waco 6 ½ years ago. They greatly enjoy being a part of the Baylor community there. They are big sports fans and rarely miss a football, basketball, or baseball game. Mary Ann also has also enjoyed being an alum advisor for her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma for the last 4 years.
Mary Ann has long been active in Baylor University Women’s Council. She served as president of the Dallas group in 2013/14 and was named the organization’s Woman of Distinction in 2018. Since moving to Waco, she has continued to serve through the Waco Women’s Council by being a member the board as well as chairing the Membership Committee and the Coed Event Committee.
She was a part of Louise Herrington School of nursing Going for the Gold Gala Task Force for all 10 years of its existence. From 1916 through 1922, she served as the chair of the task force, a responsibility that she found to be a labor of love filled with wonderful friendships and exciting gala events. She has also served on the Dean’s Board of Advocacy since 2019. Although she is not a nurse, she fell in love with the nursing school, its students and faculty, and feels a strong and lasting connection to the school.
Mary Ann and Doug are members of First Baptist Church of Waco, where both are regular participants in Sunday School, various church committees, and serve as deacons.
Mary Ann is a true lover of life, faith, family, friends, Louise Herrington School of Nursing, and all things Baylor University!
