Work Overview
Dr. Lisa M. Jones is Associate Dean for the Pre-Licensure Program and Clinical Assistant Professor at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Her previous professional background includes FT Faculty, Grayson College; PT Clinical Instructor, University of Texas at Arlington; Charge Nurse and Staff Nurse on Renal and Oncology Nursing Unit, Texoma Medical Center; Community Advocacy Director, American Heart Association-Chicago, Illinois, and Health Promotion Specialist, Will County Health Department-Joliet, Illinois.
Articles and Presentations
Dr. Jones worked with faculty peers and developed a poster presentation entitled Intermittent Fasting as a Possible Treatment Option in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Yes, No, or Maybe for the 2020 NTNP Conference. She also worked with a team to receive funding in 2022 for the project titled: Partnering for Good: Meeting the Local Needs to Prepare Global Nurses
Professional Leadership and Organizations
Dr. Jones is revered for her leadership. She is a member of the Baylor LHSON Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International (Eta Gamma Chapter) She had served on the Texoma Medical Center Peer Review Board and the Interview Board.
Awards and Honors
Dr. Jones contributes to the nursing profession. She received the Grayson College Doctoral Student Scholarship in 2017; the Shining Star Award-4th Floor at Texoma Medical Center in 2012 and was a nominee for the Rookie of the Year at Texoma Medical Center in 2011.
Community
Giving back to the community is a priority for Dr. Jones. She currently volunteers at Amazing Church in McKinney, Texas and with NHBW, a national organization for women.
