Work and Education
Dr. Sanders is a Clinical Associate Professor in the DABSN Program. She has over 15 years of teaching experience primarily in pediatrics, nursing foundations and nursing education.  She teaches in the classroom, simulation and skills laboratory and clinical settings. She has also contributed to faculty development and mentorship. Her leadership experience includes managing the Nursing Professional Development (NPD) team at a level 1 trauma center and serving in administrative roles as a Division Chair and program director. Dr. Sanders was awarded a Health Interprofessional Education Fellowship from the University of Texas at Austin Center for Health Interprofessional Education. Her clinical practice experience includes perioperative services, pediatrics, and school nursing.

Committees
Dr. Sanders has served on multiple committees at the school, state and national level including undergraduate curriculum, undergraduate admissions, simulation, and faculty development. She is a long-standing member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and serves as the Governance Chair for her local chapter. Nationally, Dr. Sanders serves on the Bylaws Committee for the National League of Nursing and is a test item writer for the Certified Nurse Educator-Clinical Exam. 

Articles and Presentations
Scholarly contributions include publications and presentations on nursing education, interprofessional education, simulation, and perioperative quality improvement. Dr. Sanders has been the co-investigator on two Nursing Innovation Grants from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board focusing on expanding capacity for nursing education and faculty preparation. 

Community
Dr. Sanders has served on the School Health Advisory Council and the Leadership Academy for area school districts. She has contributed to annual trainings for local nurse educators, nurse preceptors and area school nurses. Dr. Sanders has been involved with a church planting organization and worship ministry in Round Rock.
