Kari Haywood

Kari Lonborg Haywood graduated from Baylor University in May of 1983 with a B.S. degree from the Department of Family & Consumer Sciences in Apparel Merchandising and Design.
Kari decided to further her studies in child development, which was part of her curriculum at Baylor, to earn her Teaching Certification (1985), Kindergarten Endorsement (1986) and Master of Education in Early Childhood (1988) at Texas Women's University. She taught in the Dallas I.S.D. and Richardson I.S.D. from 1986 until 1989. After the birth of her daughters she began teaching Kindergarten at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas from 1997 through 2007. In addition to serving on the Baylor LHSON Board, Kari has served on the Robbin’s College Board of Advocates. She volunteers for Engage Positive Parenting Initiative and serves on their Board. She also volunteers for HELPS International traveling to Guatemala numerous times to install stoves and water purifiers for families in need as well as helping with teacher in service through HELPS International.
Kari and her husband, Stephen (B.B.A. 1983), have two daughters who are Baylor graduates. Jena and David Pendleton live in Oregon with their two daughters. Britney and Grady Cook live in Texas with their four children.
Kari considers it a privilege to have served on the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing Board of Advocates for many years.
