Undergraduate Admissions Support and Academic Support Specialist for the Distance Accelerated BSN track
Work/Education
Debbie joined the Baylor family at the Louise Herrington School of Nursing in 2002 and over the years has worked in several departments at the nursing school. She began as an Administrative Assistant to the Faculty in 2002. Promoting in 2006 into the Office Manger role for the Student Services office. In 2013 she promoted to the Administrative Suite as Project Support Manager. Her career at Baylor has provided opportunities to coordinate and manage New Student Orientation, White Coat, Honor Society and Pinning Ceremonies, as well as compliance and statistical data reporting. After a brief time out of state, she was recruited to return to the nursing school as Undergraduate Admissions Support and Academic Support Specialist for the Distance Accelerated BSN program.
Professional Organizations & Committees
Debbie has been a part of the International Association of Administrative Professionals(IAAP) for many years, attended conferences and has been a member of the IAAP. She has served as support for committees, taking minutes and preparing reports. She served on the taskforce committee for transitioning the nursing school admission database.
Community & Family
Debbie has always been involved in community and church work and comes from a legacy of church leaders and pastors. She has taught Sunday school, Children’s Choir and Women’s Bible studies. Her husband’s bi-vocational ministry has taken them on many mission trips, seeking opportunities to serve and lead wherever the Lord led their family. She enjoys spending time with her three sons, and their families, including four wonderful grandchildren. Debbie enjoys gardening, travel, music, playing her flute in church and other groups and volunteers locally at shelters and food banks.
