Cynthia (Cyndy) Banik Dunlap, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, leadership in nursing has spanned hospitals, a public health department, a home care agency, a municipality and service as a Chief Nursing Officer for three different hospitals across the state of Texas. Her leadership experiences include being a System Chief Nursing Officer for 13 hospitals and over 100 clinics.
Dunlap has contributed to her community’s needs and resources through serving on boards and officer roles for non-profit organizations. In addition to her community service, Dunlap served as the President of the Texas Organization of Nurse Leaders (TONL) and committees for the American Organization of Nurse Leaders. She was awarded the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award in 2021.
Dunlap earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, a Master in Public Administration from Texas State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baylor University. Dunlap and her husband live outside of Waco, Texas and have a grown son.
