Work and Education 
Dr. Dillard has served as an Adjunct Faculty member with Baylor University since December 2023. Previously she has served as a Nursing Instructor with Lincoln Technical Institute in Paramus, NJ and as an Education Specialist with St. Luke’s Baylor Medical Center in Houston, TX. Her transformational teaching style helps motivate students to think beyond the classroom and apply the knowledge gained to all areas of their lives. She encourages compassion, empathy and Christ centered service to others. Her lectures are based on practical application of nursing theory and real-life experiences in nursing. 

Professional Associations
Dr. Dillard is a member of several Nursing Professional Organizations such as the American Nurse Association, American Nurse Foundation, Sigma Theta Tau Omega Gamma Chapter, Association for Nursing Professional Development, the National League for Nursing, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Professor Dillard was also a Capella University Ambassador and participates in the American Nurse Associate Mentor Program.

Committees 
Dr. Dillard enjoys serving on Committees and has served on many committees such as Chair and Co-Chair for the Daisy Committee (2022-2024), Nurse Peer Review Committee, Shared Governance Rewards & Recognition Committee, Nurses Week 2024 Planning Committee and Nurse Research & Evidence Based Practice Council (2022-2024). She has also worked on the Texas Division Work Group for the Development of the Charge Nurse Training Curriculum & Policy and the Workgroup for the Development of the EKG Remediation Curriculum. 

Articles and Presentations
Outside the classroom, Dr. Dillard has been featured in articles and is active in nursing scholarship activities. In 2020 she was featured as the Capella University DNP Student Spotlight for her strong academic success and University participation. In 2022, she was featured in the Safe Families for Children Stories of Hope Blog “Living Out Disruptive Generosity” by Emily Cowan. She wrote an Op-Ed Piece for Imprint News in 2023 titled “Host Homes Should Be Embraced in NY” in Partnership with Safe Families for Children NYC Chapter in promotion of the NY Family Hosting Bill Legislation. Her doctoral capstone was completed in 2022 and is titled “Evaluating School Nurse Asthma Management Self-Efficacy and Performance of Asthma Management Behaviors to Improve School Nurse Asthma Management in An Urban School Health Setting”. Dr. Dillard was a contributing editor for two doctoral capstone projects 2022 “Diabetes- Specific Discharge Instructions for an Adult Inpatient Diabetic Unit to Increase Referrals to the Outpatient Diabetes Program” and 2023 “Improving the Patient Experience While Admitted to an Inpatient General Medicine Unit.” In 2024 she presented for Sigma Theta Tau International Omega Gamma Chapter on two occasions, one in May and in June “Empowering Nursing into the Future” and “Utilizing Empathy When Communicating as a Nurse Leader” respectively. She appeared in March 2024 as a guest speaker for Lawin Media Productions: Season 2: Episode 6 of “Be Bold Why Not?” Podcast. Lastly, she is currently working on publishing nursing articles in the future. 

Community
Finally, Dr. Dillard is involved in community work and volunteerism. Aside from spending time with her two daughters Carah and Corah, she has been an active member of the Safe Families for Children Christian Organization since 2018. She also serves as a continuing nursing education peer reviewer for the ANA Northeast Multistate Division Unit beginning in 2023. Additionally, she volunteers as a mentor assisting veterans with American Corporate Partners and in 2020 with the New York State COVID-19 Task Force Team.
