Work and Education
Professor Garrett has taught at Baylor since 2018. In addition, she has worked in various nursing specialties since becoming a nurse in 2012. She began her career working as a medical/surgical nurse at Baylor University Medical Center. After 3 years, she made the transition to neonatal intensive care, where she is still working as a level 4 NICU nurse. At LHSON, Professor Garrett teaches Level 1 and 2 clinical and Human Needs. She is currently one of the level 1 co-coordinators.
Professor Garrett is a Baylor graduate, receiving her master’s in Nursing Leadership and Innovation in 2015. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Texas at Tyler where she hopes to graduate by August 2023.

Professor Garrett is currently serving on Undergraduate Curriculum and Program Effectiveness Committees.
Community
When Professor Garrett isn’t volunteering or working, she enjoys spending her time with her pug, Bradie, or hanging out with friends and family.
Brandi is actively involved in serving within the Dallas community and her church. She is an active member of the Junior League of Dallas where she has served in various roles including volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas and working on the research and development team. She is currently the assistant chair for research and development and a T. Boone Pickens Leadership Institute Scholar for 2022-2023. In addition, Brandi serves at her church, Shoreline City. She is a member of the Growth Track team where she is the team admin, helping onboard new team members each week. She also serves as a table leader during the women’s ministry events.
