Teaching & Practice
Dr. Becky Good is a Clinical Associate Professor, ANCC board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), and NLN Certified Nurse Educator whose diverse nursing career spans more than 30 years. She brings over 20 years of advanced practice and nursing education experience and continues to maintain faculty practice while teaching in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Prior to joining Baylor, Dr. Good served as the coordinator and director of FNP programs at two Big Ten Universities. She has led curriculum innovation, program development, faculty mentoring, and student success initiatives across undergraduate and graduate nursing education.

Scholarship & Research
Dr. Good's scholarship focuses on nursing education, faculty development, quality improvement, and healthy academic work environments. She is recognized for leading the foundational scholarship on entrenched toxic cultures in academic nursing, including development of the concept analysis, conceptual model, and the first instrument designed to measure the phenomenon. Her work seeks to advance understanding of organizational factors that influence faculty well-being, retention, and the long-term sustainability of the nursing workforce. In addition, her scholarly contributions include work in experiential learning, advanced practice nursing education, substance use education, and quality improvement. She has disseminated her work through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at regional, national, and international conferences.

Leadership & Professional Service
Throughout her career, Dr. Good has received numerous teaching and innovation awards and has contributed to federally funded nursing workforce and educational initiatives. At Baylor, she served on the team that helped achieve NLN Center of Excellence designation for the Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Dr. Good also serves the profession through accreditation, peer review, and national service. She is a program evaluator for the NLN Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) and a reviewer for nursing journals and national professional organizations.

Impact & Community Engagement
Committed to improving care for vulnerable populations, Dr. Good established the first HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) clinic and the first Medicare Annual Wellness Clinic in her region, expanding access to preventive health care services. Her clinical, educational, and scholarly work reflects a commitment to developing future nurse leaders and fostering environments where students, faculty, and healthcare professionals can thrive. For nearly 30 years, Dr. Good has been actively involved in community and church ministry through teaching, mentoring, youth and children’s leadership, summer camp counseling, and women’s ministry. She remains committed to serving others through faith-based and community outreach. Outside of her professional roles, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, traveling, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and reading.
