Work and Education
Dr. Alexander has taught nursing at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing since Fall 2022. She is Chair of the Educational Technology Committee and also serves on the Research and Scholarship Committee. Prior to this, she taught nursing for five years at Simpson University and George Fox University, both faith-based institutions. She specializes in psychiatric nursing. Her clinical experience includes work in primary care as a family nurse practitioner and emergency department, critical care, and medical-surgical nursing as an RN.

Articles and Presentations
In 2021, she delivered a presentation called “Simulation Creation: An Innovative Teaching Strategy” at the American Psychiatric Nurses Association National Conference. She has also presented several posters on trauma-informed mental health nursing education and simulation at conferences for the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, NurseTim, and QSEN.

Community  
Andrea Alexander recently relocated to Forney, Texas from Salem, Oregon and attends Ridgeview Church in Rockwall. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, where she previously served as a Member-At-Large in the Oregon Chapter, as well as Sigma Theta Tau, Gamma Phi chapter.
