Dr. Angosta served as the Associate Dean for Research & Scholarship at Baylor LHSON from 2021-2025, a period of unprecedented growth for the school and a pivotal time as Baylor University became an R1 institution. As Associate Dean, she was instrumental in expanding LHSON’s scholarly footprint and research impact. Under her leadership, Baylor LHSON secured over $2 million in external grant funding for research, education, training, and program grants. She also served as the point of contact for the Baylor University and U.S. Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing (USAGPAN). Dr. Angosta led the expansion of the tenure and tenure-track faculty at LHSON, which included establishing the first Endowed Chair for Mental Health. She fostered a culture of scholarship through several development initiatives. She organized 33 monthly research and scholarship seminars, hosted grant-writing workshops, and led four Annual Research & Scholarship Faculty Showcases. She brought distinguished lectureships from nationally renowned nurse researchers to LHSON. As a leader, educator, and researcher, Dr. Angosta's overarching goal has always been to help others exceed their own professional expectations. She mentored both tenure-track and clinical-track faculty, guiding them through the processes of grant submissions, publications, tenure and/or promotion. As Associate Dean, she served as a vital liaison between the LHSON and Baylor University’s Office of the Vice Provost for Research. Her collaboration was instrumental in developing and revising several key guidelines, including those for LHSON’s tenure and promotion, faculty searches, and grant submission procedures. She chaired the Tenured Faculty Committee and the Faculty Search Task Force and continues to serve on LHSON committees.
Prior to Baylor University, Dr. Angosta served as the Director of the Graduate Program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Nursing. During her director role, she was instrumental in elevating the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program’s profile making it the #1 graduate nursing school in Nevada and top 10 online MSN program in the nation. Under her guidance, the program’s national rankings significantly improved in the U.S. News & World Report 2021 rankings, rising to #7 in online education and climbing from 76th to 40th in the Graduate & Professional Programs category. Dr. Angosta was also crucial in increasing enrollment for the MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program and establishing the first Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
