Baylor University Inaugural GLOBE Awards Recognizes Dr. Lyn Prater
The Center for Global Engagement at Baylor University (BU) in Waco, Texas recently launched the inaugural GLOBE Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to global engagement. During International Education Week (Nov. 10–14, 2025), BU honored one faculty member, staff member, and student whose work exemplified Baylor’s mission of integrating faith, learning, and service globally.

A fellow faculty member nominated Dr. Lyn Prater, PhD, RN, CNE, Clinical Professor at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Dr. Prater received the inaugural faculty award along with a student and a staff winner. Dr. Eddie Contreras, Vice Provost for Global Engagement, BU, presented her with a Certificate at the State of Global Engagement during Baylor’s International Education Week events.
“Dr. Lyn Prater has established and sustained a transformative 15-year collaboration with Bangalore Baptist Hospital in India, creating enduring pathways for cross-cultural clinical learning and bilateral professional development,” said Dr. Contreras. “Through this partnership, she has mentored generations of students and faculty in cultural humility and compassionate care, demonstrating how clinical excellence and Christian vocation converge in global health engagement”
