Work & Education
Dr. Jones is a Clinical Associate Professor at Baylor University LHSON and has spent much of her career in Maternal, and Labor and Delivery care. She received a BSN and MSN from the University of Mississippi and then proceeded to conduct post-master’s research at Vanderbilt School of Nursing. In 2014, she received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from University of Missouri Kansas City. For almost 25 years Dr. Jones has practiced nursing in Labor and Delivery, and Perinatal Units across the country.
Committees/Organizations/Awards
Dr. Jones has served on the IMPACT Houston Committee on Maternal Mortality and Morbidity for the State of Texas and is a member of the Texas Board of Nursing. She was also named to the Who’s Who Among Student’s in American Colleges and Universities. In 2004 she was named Texas Nurse of the Year - March of Dimes. In 2008 she was given the Great 100 Nurses Award by the Texas Nurses Association.
Articles & Presentations
Dr. Jones’ research relates to pregnancy and neonatal care. Recently, she wrote an article for AWHONN Critical Care & High Risk Intrapartum Nursing. Her recent presentations include “Quantitative Estimation of Blood Loss: Review of the Literature Poster Presentation" at the Midwest Nursing Society and “Maternal Hemorrhage: What is the Evidence?" at the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
