LHSON Giving Results From 2026 NTxGivingDay
The results are in for North Texas Giving Day hosted on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing raised $14,458 from 109 donors during this 18-hour giving event. Designed to empower every person to give back to their community by supporting local nonprofits and causes, this was LHSON's 14th consecutive year to participate. Online donations were made from 6 a.m. to midnight on www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org.
“What a blessing our Baylor alumni, parents and friends are to LHSON,” said Janis Kovar, Senior Director of Development, Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. “All of the gifts made on North Texas Giving Day were truly appreciated and together make a big difference to our nursing students who follow their calling to be the hands and feet of Christ.”
In the spirit of all the fundraising excitement, activities on NTxGiving Day at the LHSON included: Dr Pepper Hour and photos with our bear mascot; fresh popcorn hour; Facebook videos and social media photos throughout the day and two sponsored scavenger hunts for students. Congratulations to Brooklyn Wright, Level 1 student and Jenivi Tham, FastBacc student, who found the two stuffed animal bears in the scavenger hunt, worth $200 each and applied to NTxGivingDay, sponsored by a generous donor. Plus, we hosted numerous giving challenges to inspire support such as a Cohort Giving Challenge between Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, plus FastBacc®, DABSN and Graduate students based on which cohort had the most donor participation percentage. The winning cohort was FastBacc! Additional giving challenges included: Board Challenge; Faculty/Staff Challenge; Alumni Challenge; Students Challenge and Night Owl Challenge each supported by donors who contributed additional funds when goals were met.
Established in 2009, North Texas Giving Day is presented by Communities Foundation of Texas and is dedicated to strengthening local nonprofits. With a vision of building thriving communities for all, CFT works locally and across the state with many individuals, families, companies, foundations, and nonprofits through a variety of charitable funds and strategic grantmaking initiatives.
