Dr. Jessica Jones Receives APRN Excellence Award by NANN
Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON) congratulated Jessica M. Jones, DNP, APRN, NNP-BC, C-NNIC, Clinical Assistant Professor, who was selected to receive the 2026 APRN Excellence Award from the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN). The award is given to Advanced Practice Registered Nurse’s (APRN) in the area of neonatology Dr. Jones will be honored during NANN’s 42nd Annual Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, September 15-18, 2026.
“Congratulations to Dr. Jones! This is a wonderful honor in recognition of her dedication to excellence in advanced practice neonatal nursing,” said Tanya Sudia, PhD, RN, Dean, LHSON. “She is a revered nurse leader who exemplifies our legacy of caring to bolster future Baylor nurses.”
Dr. Jones has been a faculty member at the LHSON since 2023. Specializing in neonatal care, she teaches students through didactic courses, hands on immersions, and clinical settings. Her lectures are informed by her twenty-four years of professional experience in neonatal nursing. She currently practices clinically both in Tennessee where she recently relocated, as well as her home state of Florida.
“There are over 7,500 practicing NNPs, and I am completely humbled that I was chosen for this distinguished award,” said Dr. Jones. “As always, I am grateful for the support, encouragement, and mentorship that I have received from Baylor University, fellow faculty members and colleagues.”
Since 1984, NANN has supported neonatal nurses and advanced the specialty, supporting neonatal nurses and NICU nursing through practice guidelines, continuing education and advocacy.
