LHSON Hosts 3rd Annual Endowed Scholarship Celebration Dinner
The Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON) joined together in celebration of its annual LHSON Endowed Scholarship Celebration Dinner. Hosted on Thursday, November 07, 2024 at the LHSON Academic Building, over 120 guests gathered for a heartfelt evening as eight new endowment plaques were presented. “The LHSON is grateful to those that contributed to these endowments to make a meaningful difference in the lives of future Baylor nurses,” said Linda Plank, Dean of the LHSON. “Now, more than ever, the impact of nurses is felt worldwide. LHSON is leading the way by holistically preparing and educating students in mind and spirit to fulfill their calling.”
The evening included a reception with a harp performance by Hannah Cooley, BSN, ’17. During the dinner and program opening remarks were shared by Dean Linda Plank BU BSN, ‘77 and David Cortes, BU BBA, 2004, Associate VP of Development for Baylor. The invocation was graciously given by Daniel Roby, BU BA, ‘04, CEO of Austin Street Center followed by special remarks from Amanda and Dusty Bedwell BU MBA, ‘14, Senior Development Director for A&S. Later in the evening a compelling student testimony was given from Cheyenne Lennard, Level 1 and Janis Kovar, Senior Development Director of the LHSON. The evening poignantly concluded with Stephen Carrell, BU, MMvs ‘87, Pastor of Worship & Music, Park Cities Baptist Church, who sang I Will Go. To view all the photos from the evening, click here.
