Professional Overview
Dr. Shelli Ellis has been in the profession of nursing for twenty years. Specializing in pediatric nursing care, clinical simulation, and nursing leadership, she teaches students through lecture, lab, and clinical settings. Dr. Ellis has done extensive work in applying research to eradicate incivility in nursing.
Committees
In the past, Dr. Ellis has served on many community boards and workgroups. These include the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN), Texas Association of Nurses, Nurse Christian Fellowship (NCF) chapter president.
Articles and Presentations
Outside the classroom, Dr. Ellis contributes to both nursing publications and nursing associations. In 2018, she delivered a presentation called “Eradicating Nurse Incivility” for the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) yearly conference in Columbus, Ohio.
Community
Finally, Dr. Shelli Ellis is involved in her local community. Aside from spending time with her husband of twenty-one years and two children, she is an active member of First Woodway Baptist Church, in Woodway, Texas. She has also served on the board of the GWACHA (Greater Waco Advanced Healthcare Academy) as a high school mentor, 2019 GWACHA Community Advisory Board President, and a Care Net Instructor. Having lived in Texas her entire life she is proud to serve her church and community.
