Donna Dee Floyd

Donna Dee Floyd received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Kansas. She is also a steadfast supporter of Baylor University, honored in 2007 as an Alumni By Choice. She is an active member of the Baylor University Women’s Council of Dallas.
Revered for her inspiration and leadership, Donna Dee has made a lasting impact on the many organizations and businesses she has worked with over the years. She organized the first Baylor LHSON Dean’s Board in 2008, replacing the existing advisory council. She has served on the Dean’s Board for 14 years (renamed in 2020 the LHSON Board of Advocates), serving as Chair from 2008-2011 and is now as Co-Chair in 2022 with Angela Bowman. She also played a pivotal role on the Baylor University Search Committee in 2011 for the next Dean of the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON). Additionally, from 2012-2015, she served as Co-Chair for the LHSON’s Going for the Gold Gala and volunteered her time and talent on the Gala Taskforce Committee. Notably, Donna Dee is a professional Prayer Ministry Consultant, organizing prayer ministries for churches such as: Tallowood Baptist and Second Baptist in Houston; Truett Seminary and other churches in Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Colorado, as well as Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochran, Alberta, Canada. Respected as a published author, Donna Dee wrote the Prayer Ministry Manual with co-author Dr. T.W. Hunt for the Baptist Sunday School Board accompanied by a “How To” video. Donna Dee is also a Charter Docent at the President George W. Bush Library and Museum in Dallas, Texas. Her seasoned guidance also includes years of service in Houston as: President of the Houston Baptist University Development Council; Methodist Hospital Development Board; Volunteer of the Year at Houston Baptist University; Prayer Ministry Director at Tallowood Baptist Church; Pastor Search Committee member for Tallowood Baptist Church and Chaplain for Marketplace Ministries.
Distinguished for her remarkable dedication, Donna Dee has been recognized over the years with many awards and honors. She was selected as the Friend of Nursing award recipient at the 2012 LHSON Alumni Reunion. She was honored as one of the 100 Legends of the Line at LHSON’s Centennial Celebration. In 2002, she received the “Innovator Award for Creativity in Missions” from the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Giving back to the community, in 2009 she and her husband established The Curt and Donna Dee Floyd Endowed Scholarship Fund in Nursing to help support FastBacc® students. The Floyds are also members of the Baylor University Endowed Scholarship Society.
Esteemed by her strong Christian faith, Donna Dee is a devoted member of Park Cities Baptist Church. She participates in the weekly Thursday morning Bible study, is an Outreach Leader for her Sunday School class and is part of the “In Home Ministry” program. Donna Dee and her husband Curt Floyd have three children, two are Baylor University graduates, Jim Floyd and Kristi Kay Floyd Estes and Dr. Philip Floyd received his M.D. degree from the Baylor College of Medicine. Donna Dee and Curt are also proud grandparents of ten wonderful grandchildren. In her spare time Donna Dee enjoys hobbies such as collecting fossils and seashells as well as caring for her beloved pets over the years. In addition, she is a big fan of the Price Is Right and was a contestant in the late 1980s when Bob Barker was the MC.
