Baylor University LHSON Welcomes Business Officer, Jerchel Anderson
The Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing is pleased to welcome Ms. Jerchel Anderson, EMBA, who has been named Business Officer at Baylor University’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON). Ms. Anderson is a financial professional with over 20 years of experience as a financial administrator and accountant. She began at the LHSON on March 20, 2023.
“We are happy that Ms. Anderson has accepted the position of Business Officer at the LHSON while Baylor University is restructuring the business organizations at each school. She will be a dynamic new addition to our team of talent,” said Dean Linda Plank, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, LHSON.
“Ms. Anderson will follow in the footsteps of Rebecca Robbins, our current Business Officer who is retiring this summer after serving over 25 years at Baylor University LHSON. Affectionately known to us as Becky, her distinguished career, Christian faith and commitment to the field of nursing will be a sustaining blessing for Baylor University and she will be dearly missed by all of her colleagues.”
As the Business Officer, Ms. Anderson will oversee all business operations of the BU Louise Herrington School of Nursing, providing financial oversight of the two academic programs. She will ensure appropriate accounting, reporting and financial compliance across the School, provide financial management guidance and support to the Dean, and will coordinate with other Baylor units to plan and support external funding opportunities.
Prior to joining Baylor University, Ms. Anderson served as the Financial Business Officer since 2017 at the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She was also Research Administration Manager for the Center for Vital Longevity at the University of Texas at Dallas as well as, Business Officer and Director of Finance & Personnel at the University of California in Los Angeles.
Ms. Anderson completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from California State University in Seaside, California and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Early Childhood Development: Administration from California State University in Los Angeles, California. She also currently serves on the SMU Women in Leadership Lecturer Series and is CEO to Just A Little Business, LLC in Cedar Hill, Texas which provides business coaching, mentorship and leadership training to small business owners and individuals in leadership.
Giving back to the community, Ms. Anderson is involved in various affiliations and community service organizations. She currently serves as a volunteer with Bear Creek Ranch Community. In years past, she was an Advisory Board member for Alge-Brothers, Ole School House, and a Board member for the Black Women’s Network. Additional support offered was as a Board member for Palisades Charter High School and volunteering in the Food Pantry at First African Methodist Episcopal Church.
